Do you have an ejector pit in the basement? If so, you will eventually need to replace your ejector pit pump. This is one task you definitely do NOT want to put off until it breaks down.
Ejector Pumps are designed to grind and eject sewage into the main sewer pipe that may be above the same level as the bath. Even if you have a bath above the level of the sewer pipe the standard flow of water should be 2 feet per second. If your normal flow above the sewer line is slower than this due to the geography of your home’s floor plan, you can have an ejector pit pump installed to hasten the flow of the bath waste to your outside sewer line or septic tank.
